Vauxhall Zafira
The original Vauxhall Zafira was wildly popular and revolutionised the MPV market, being a seven-seat vehicle that offered space, security, safety and an enjoyable ride. Yet the designers have surpassed themselves once again with this second-generation model, with even more room for passengers and luggage, as well as an updated exterior and interior styling.
The new Zafira offers four superb engines (two petrol and two diesel), all of which have been made more powerful and economical than ever before thanks to the manufacturer’s ECOTEC technology. All engines meet the stringent Euro 5 emissions standards. The carbon output of the 1.7-litre CDTi diesel is just 134g/km, meaning that you will need to pay just £115 of Vehicle Excise Duty every year.
Safety remained one of the highest priorities for the designers of the Zafira and, due to its range of active and passive safety measures, the car richly deserves its five-star Euro NCAP rating. The Electronic Stability Programme, Cornering Brake Control and Pedal Release System are complemented by an ultra-rigid structure and front, side and curtain airbags.
